We visited the Thames Barrier in the morning and had an interesting talk about flood control in London and viewed background information on the Barrier in the Visitor's Centre. This related to their AS study of rivers and their management. We had lunch in St Katharine's Dock and examined evidence of the regeneration of this dock. In the afternoon pupils visited Brick Lane and recorded differences in housing types and again, evidence of regeneration in this area of Tower Hamlets. This related to their AS studies of population change in urban areas and the resultant socio and economic characteristics.
As usual, the sun shone for the geographers!
