James Allen's Girls' School has just been informed by Edexcel that some of its pupils were among the top ten achieving the highest marks at A level and GCSE in several individual subjects. Many congratulations to Alice Hibberd and Sarah Hull who were commended for their exceptionally high scores in Art at A level, placed in the top ten in the country. The History Department is celebrating news that four JAGS girls, Louise Gammon, Rebecca Hay, Anne Lund and Lorna Van Oss, were commended by the Examination Board for being placed among the top ten highest performing Advanced Extension Award candidates nationally in History. Katrina Skwarek received a commendation for being one of the top ten highest scoring candidates nationally in A level Religious Studies and Anaar Patel has been commended in A level Geography.
At GCSE there are commendations for Gill Britton in History and for Laetitia Ward in Russian. In Italian, Eliza Chubb, Natalie Plowman, Leonie Rae Gasson, Bella Shields and Ayesha Williams took five of the top ten places in the country!
JAGS Headmistress, Mrs Marion Gibbs, comments: “The girls and their teachers are to be congratulated; they have worked very hard for these examinations. It is also a tribute to the girls that they have still found time to give an enormous amount through community action and extra-curricular activities.”
