Autumn News
Whitehall for a day
Ten sixth form politics and languages students had the fantastic opportunity of visiting the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Whitehall as part of a Schools’ Day in October, a chance for those interested in pursuing a career within the Foreign Office. The JAGS students were able to find out about all of the different kinds of work the Foreign and Commonwealth office undertakes, from consular work through to high level EU and UN negotiations.
Students were invited to take part in some “hands on” sessions, including a mock press conference and a very realistic mock EU negotiation session. The JAGS students had really to think for themselves and thoroughly enjoyed their experience, which they could genuinely describe as a real eye-opener!
