Southwark Council’s Eco Bus came to JAGS for ‘Girls Go Green’ day, an initiative shared by 250 Independent Girls’ Schools nationally. Students can ‘Hook a Duck’ to learn about water saving, have a go on their Energy bike and learn more about sustainability in Southwark. The girls won toothbrushes, water bottles and had a thoroughly good time, looking great in their uniform, with touches of green.
Slave for the Day! Annie, Niya, Aliya, Ellie and Lydia, Year 8, successfully bid for sixth form slave, Katie Lawton, whom they can briefly command to run errands, buy sweets and generally make them feel very important – all for charity of course (The Charlotte Baby Hospital, India). Katie is one of many sixth formers who nobly volunteered.
Welcome back to the Year 7 intrepid rock-climbers, dry-slope skiers, canoeists who enjoyed adventures this weekend at Bowles.
And finally, if you were out and about in London on Sunday, you might have seen a streak of lightning flashing past in the shape of Miss Bryony Britten! She crossed the finishing line in a very impressive 35th position out of 7418 women runners in the Run to the Beat half-marathon: a Personal Best. Some of us were a lot more comatose on a cold, wet, miserable day….
