Autumn News
Weekend news from JAGS
In the Robert Robson Essay Competition, Zofia Bakowska, Year 13, has been highly commended by Trinity College, Cambridge, for her essay on Henry V1.
Congratulations to hockey player Amelia Coe, Year 10, who has been selected to play for the Surrey U19 Academy. She is the youngest member of the squad – this is a fantastic achievement!
Alison Eson, Emily Bradley and Emma Schofield, Year 13, have been with Mrs Askew to the National Community Service Conference at Oxford this weekend, and made excellent public presentations (prepared and instant!) to the large audience of delegates. Alison, Emily and Emma contribute very positively the flourishing programme of Community Action at JAGS.
If your daughter tells you she is allowed to add an item of green clothing to her uniform next Monday, it is true! We are joining the Girls Go Green Independent Girls' Schools’ initiative and are looking forward to the inventiveness of the JAGS pupils, the arrival of the Eco Bus and the opportunity to glean environmental information and advice.
Congratulations to this year’s Sports Captains:
Hockey Katie Rose and Vice-Captain Tish Lloyd-Davies
Netball Kitty Kent and Rosy Joly
Swimming Alicia Manley, Millie Mirchandani and Ruby Curran Jones
Cross Country Julia Wedmore
Fencing Emma Van Oss and Madeleine Taylor
Dance Andie Gbedemah and Saskia Phelps
