Lord Sebastian Coe, Dame Kelly Holmes and Miss Clare Martin

What do they have in common?

Think running, think Art, think Tate Britain and Martin Creed’s installation, Work No. 850, which centres on the simple idea that a person runs as fast as they can every 30 seconds through the gallery. Each run is followed by an equivalent pause like a musical rest, during which the grand Neoclassical gallery is empty.

You’ve got it! Sebastian Coe and Kelly Holmes might be better known athletes, but since JAGS Spanish teacher, Clare Martin, ran the day before them, she got there first! Clare can next be seen sprinting through the gallery from 2.30pm to the close on Saturday 4 October. If you miss her there, you can catch up with her in the New York City Marathon in November. But we should warn you, she is the Welsh Ladies’ Champion and an elite runner, just before you try. More news will follow.
