The Carnival of the Animals

This was a glorious parade in full fur, technicolour and surround sound to cheer up a drizzly cold Sunday afternoon. Ten fantastic musicians playing an assortment of instruments: percussion, piano, trumpet, bassoon, clarinet, flute, violin, viola and voice, delighted a packed audience in the JAPS hall. Some solo slots and then the Saint-Saens’ Carnival itself. We heard lions, tortoises, kangaroos, fossils and fish, to name but a few, all expertly introduced with the gentle humour of Ogden Nash et al.
Pupils and parents alike celebrated the professionalism and skills of the Visiting Music Teachers and those of the Directors of Music at JAPS and JAGS, and now know that there are opportunities to play all these wonderful instruments at both schools.
The camel has a single hump;
The dromedary , two;
Or else the other way around.
I'm never sure. Are you?
If you dressed as an animal you could claim a prize! A unique JAPS launch of the campaign for James Allen’s Community Music Centre.
